Von der Leyen: EU to Maintain Russia Sanctions and Support for Ukraine

European Commission President Ursula von der Leyen says the European Union will continue its sanctions policy against Russia and maintain military support for Ukraine. She said Ukraine still needs additional air defence systems, adding that the issue will be discussed at the upcoming NATO summit in Ankara. Von der Leyen also said the EU is working to finalise agreement on its 21st package of sanctions against Russia in the coming days. She stressed that the bloc would continue supporting Ukraine and maintain efforts to increase pressure on Moscow.
