Local Taliban authorities in Logar province say that unknown individuals have killed four members of a family, including a woman, in the province. Taliban security officials in Logar confirmed on Monday 27 April that the incident occurred in the “Hesarak” area of Pul-e-Alam, the provincial capital. According to officials, the victims include a woman, a 60-year-old man, a young man around 33 years old, and a 13-year-old boy. The motive behind the killings and the identities of the perpetrators remain unknown. The Taliban say that several suspects have been arrested in connection with the incident. This comes amid a recent rise in reports of mysterious killings and armed robberies in several provinces. Just a day earlier, unidentified gunmen killed a tribal elder in Sar-e Pol province after his release from Taliban custody. Prior to that, another tribal elder was killed by unknown assailants in Sheberghan city, Jawzjan province.
