TEHRAN: Mahmoud Ahmadi Nejat, Iran’s former president, was killed in an Israeli strike targeting his residence in Tehran, according to reports. Several of his bodyguards were also killed in the attack. Following his presidency, Ahmadi Nejat had been appointed by Iran’s Supreme Leader to serve as a member of the Expediency Discernment Council.
