A video of Taliban-appointed ambassador Sardar Ahmad Shakib addressing the National Defence University in Pakistan has drawn attention on social media after it was removed from the official X account of the Afghan embassy in Islamabad.
The embassy published the video of Shakib’s speech on 1 September. It later said the video disappeared when the account was reactivated.
Embassy sources attributed the removal of the video to a technical problem.
The incident comes amid growing disagreements between Pakistan and the Taliban in recent months. Against this backdrop, Shakib’s remarks at Pakistan’s National Defence University have attracted particular attention.
