Human rights activists in Sweden, with the support of the Women’s Solidarity Movement and the participation of a number of Afghan citizens, held a protest gathering. The aim of the gathering was to amplify the voices of women in Afghanistan who have been deprived of their fundamental human rights under Taliban rule. Participants expressed deep concern over the situation of women and girls in Afghanistan, calling on the Government of Sweden, the European Union, and the international community to take more responsible action in defending human rights and the rights of Afghan women, and to remain accountable and committed in response to widespread violations.
