Security Alert in Germany; Flights at Munich Airport Halted After Suspected Drone Sighting German police said flights at Munich Airport, one of the country’s busiest aviation hubs, were temporarily suspended following reports of a suspected drone near the airport. According to police officials, two pilots reported spotting a drone close to the airport’s airspace shortly after 9:00 a.m. local time. Following the report, security authorities, in coordination with Germany’s air traffic control centre, decided to temporarily close the airport’s runways. Authorities said it remains unclear how long the restrictions will remain in place. The disruption could lead to delays and affect a number of domestic and international flights.
