Iran’s Foreign Ministry spokesperson Esmail Baghaei has said there are no plans for a meeting with the United States, as an Iranian delegation visits Islamabad on an official trip. Writing on X on Saturday, April 25, Baghaei stated, “There is no plan for any meeting between Iran and the United States. Iran’s views will be shared with Pakistan.” He added that Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi is expected to meet senior Pakistani officials to discuss efforts aimed at ending the U.S. conflict and strengthening peace in the region, with a focus on Pakistan’s continued mediation role. The Iranian delegation arrived in Islamabad on Friday evening. Earlier reports had suggested that it might take part in a second round of peace talks with the United States. Meanwhile, international media have reported that a U.S. delegation is also expected to arrive in Islamabad on Saturday.
