The Taliban’s Ministry of Defense says Afghan air forces carried out airstrikes on alleged ISIS targets in Pakistan’s Balochistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa provinces. In a statement posted on X on Wednesday, the ministry said the strikes targeted a joint ISIS facility and what it described as “criminal elements” in the Sarnan area of Pishin district, Balochistan. The ministry said the site was used to plan and coordinate attacks and sabotage operations inside Afghanistan, including attacks against civilians. It also said Afghan forces struck an ISIS facility in the Qambar Khel area of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa and another joint ISIS facility in the Shah Salim area of Chitral. According to the ministry, the strikes caused heavy casualties and significant losses to ISIS members and their supporters. It claimed the operations were conducted with precision and caused no civilian casualties. The ministry added that Afghan forces will continue to target any location used to threaten Afghanistan’s security.
