KABUL: Mariam bint Ali bin Nasser Al-Misned, Qatar’s Minister of State for International Cooperation, arrived in Kabul at the head of a delegation to deliver humanitarian aid for the earthquake-affected regions of Afghanistan. According to a statement from the Qatari Ministry of Foreign Affairs, four military aircraft carrying two field hospitals, medicines, tents, and food supplies have reached Kabul. This aid is set to be distributed to 11,000 earthquake victims. Published images show the Qatari delegation, which includes three women, being welcomed at Kabul airport by Mohammad Naeem, the Taliban Deputy Foreign Minister, along with other officials from the group. The earthquake that struck eastern Afghanistan on Sunday night, which caused the most damage in Kunar province, has reportedly resulted in over 1,450 deaths and nearly 3,400 injuries, according to Taliban officials. Additionally, approximately 6,800 homes have been destroyed in the disaster.
