It also describes any disruption of the waterway as a threat to international peace and security. It calls on Iran to halt attacks, provide information on naval mines, and not obstruct clearance efforts, while urging cooperation with UN initiatives to ensure the flow of aid and essential goods. Diplomats say Washington aims to finalize the text by May 8 and bring it to a vote early next week. China says it is still reviewing the draft and has not decided whether to use its veto.
