KABUL: Afghanistan’s national cricket team lost its first T20 match against Pakistan in the tri-nation series. The match, held at the Sharjah Cricket Stadium, saw Pakistan winning the toss and opting to bat first. They scored 182 runs for the loss of 7 wickets in the allotted 20 overs. For Afghanistan, Fareed Malik took 2 wickets, while Rashid Khan, Mohammad Nabi, Azmatullah Omarzai, and Mujeeb ur Rahman each claimed 1 wicket. Afghanistan was unable to chase down the target, finishing with 143 runs and losing all their wickets in the 20th over, resulting in a defeat by 39 runs. In Afghanistan’s batting lineup, Rashid Khan scored 39 runs, Rahmanullah Gurbaz contributed 38, Sadiq Atal made 23, and Darwish Rasooli added 21 runs. It is worth noting that Afghanistan’s national cricket team will play its second match in the tri-nation series against the UAE on September 1.
