More than 1,000 Afghan migrants have returned to Afghanistan from Iran, according to Taliban spokesman Hamdullah Fitrat.
Fitrat said 253 Afghan families, comprising 1,135 people, returned through several border crossings on 28 September.
He said the returnees entered Afghanistan through crossings including Islam Qala, Ibrahim Khalil, Pul-e Abrisham and Bahramcha.
According to Taliban authorities, the returnees received assistance with registration, health services, transport and other immediate needs.
The returns come as Iran has intensified the deportation and repatriation of Afghan migrants in recent months, with thousands returning to Afghanistan from different parts of the country.
International aid agencies have warned that the growing number of returnees is putting additional pressure on humanitarian resources, particularly in areas such as shelter, food and healthcare.
