Noor urges anti-Taliban groups not to send young people to their deaths

Atta Mohammad Noor, the former governor of Balkh and a prominent opponent of the Taliban, has urged leaders of anti-Taliban fronts not to send young people into combat through what he described as hasty plans.

In a message following recent clashes, Noor said: “Please do not send needy young people, migrants and the children of an oppressed people to their deaths for the pleasure of foreigners and through hasty plans.”

He also said guerrilla warfare required “strategic vision, responsible planning and unity”.

Noor called on leaders of anti-Taliban fronts to consider careful planning and coordination before taking military action.
