Abdul Sattar Hussaini, a former member of Afghanistan’s parliament, has strongly criticised Hamdullah Mohib, the country’s former national security adviser, accusing him of mismanaging security institutions and sidelining experienced personnel.
Hussaini alleged that Mohib’s policies weakened Afghanistan’s security and defence forces and contributed to the eventual collapse of the former republic.
He also accused Mohib of financial corruption and misusing resources belonging to former security personnel, calling for the allegations against him to be investigated and for him to be held accountable.
The comments come as Mohib has published Shadows Over Kabul, in which he offers his own account of the events that led to the collapse of Afghanistan’s former republic.
