Kamal Naser Osuli, a former member of Afghanistan’s parliament, has called for schools to be reopened, universities to be supported, and governance to be based on the rule of law.
He has also called for a Grand Assembly to be convened to establish a legal framework for Afghanistan’s future. He said this could help secure domestic and international legitimacy and bring an end to political monopolisation.
Osuli warned that, in his view, the continuation of the current situation could lead to further hardship for the Afghan people, the country and future generations.
He also criticised what he described as damage to Afghanistan’s national terminology and the improper use of the Pashto and Dari languages.
