Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps (IRGC) has claimed that it carried out fresh attacks targeting several US military bases and facilities in Kuwait, Jordan and Syria. In a statement, the IRGC said that its attack on Kuwait’s Ali Al Salem Air Base targeted an early warning radar system, an equipment and aircraft parts hangar, and a facility housing US MQ-9 drones. In a separate statement, the IRGC claimed that, based on what it described as “public information from Jordan”, several US military aircraft, including C-17 transport planes and P-8 maritime patrol aircraft, were targeted and destroyed with ballistic missiles at Aqaba Airport. The IRGC also said it had, for the second time this week, targeted a US special operations command centre in the Al-Tanf area of Syria. Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) has confirmed that an Iranian attack on the Al-Tanf base two days earlier killed one US service member and injured another.
