US President Donald Trump has warned that Iran would face severe consequences if any American soldier is killed by Iranian forces. In a post on his Truth Social platform, Trump wrote: “Every time Iran kills an American Soldier they will pay for that killing many times over.” He said the directive had been passed on to US Secretary of War Pete Hegseth, Chairman of the Joint Chiefs of Staff General Daniel Caine, and other senior military leaders.
