Houthis claim deadly attacks on Riyadh airport

Saudi officials say at least one person has been killed and 11 others injured in a fresh attack by Yemen’s Houthi movement on Riyadh International Airport.

The attack took place on Sunday, a day after a deadly strike in Saudi Arabia that officials said killed 12 people and injured more than 300.

Saturday’s attack was described as the deadliest on Saudi soil in more than a decade. The Houthis have claimed responsibility for both attacks.

On Sunday, the group said it had carried out several attacks over the previous 24 hours, including the strike on Riyadh International Airport. It also threatened to continue targeting transport hubs in the kingdom, describing them as “the theatre of our forces’ operations”.

Saudi Arabia has long provided military support to Yemen’s government in its conflict with the Houthis, a war that has plunged the country into years of crisis and instability.
