Ahmad Saeedi, a political analyst, has criticised recent remarks by Hafiz Mansour, a former Afghan parliamentarian, about the leadership of Afghanistan’s National Resistance Front.
Saeedi said the Supreme Council of Panjshir could express its views on the National Resistance Front, but should not decide on the leadership of a movement that describes itself as national on behalf of all Afghans.
He described Mansour’s position as “incorrect and ill-considered”, saying the National Resistance Front should not be limited to a particular province, ethnic group or region.
Saeedi also called on the front’s leadership to listen to criticism from Afghans, including women and young people, and take steps to strengthen public trust.
