Iran’s Foreign Minister Abbas Araghchi has said that three people killed in an incident in Bandar Khamir were “completely innocent”, claiming they were targeted while crossing a bridge. Araghchi said Iran would not allow the blood of those killed to be “wasted”. “Iran is our homeland; from south to north and from east to west. We will defend every inch of this land until our last breath,” he said. The Iranian foreign minister made the comments after reports emerged of the deaths in Bandar Khamir. No further details about the circumstances surrounding the incident have been independently confirmed.
