China and Russia stress continued cooperation with Pakistan on Afghanistan’s stability

China and Russia have said they support efforts to strengthen long-term peace, stability and security in Afghanistan, pledging to continue coordination on the issue at both bilateral and multilateral levels. In a joint statement released by the Chinese embassy in Pakistan, the two countries said regional mechanisms and frameworks play an important role in addressing Afghanistan’s political situation. The statement added that China and Russia are ready to work with Pakistan and Afghanistan to help resolve existing differences between Kabul and Islamabad through political and diplomatic channels as soon as possible. The two countries also stressed that peace, security and broader regional cooperation are essential for shared development and lasting stability, with Afghanistan playing an important role in the process.
