Iranian media have reported widespread telecommunications disruptions in parts of Hormozgan Province following overnight US strikes on the region. According to the Iranian news agency Tasnim, the province’s director general of Information and Communications Technology said 116 mobile communication towers had been knocked out during the attacks, leaving landline, mobile phone and internet services unavailable in parts of northern Hormozgan, including areas around Bandar Abbas and Hajiabad. The official said work to restore the communications network had begun, with technical teams and equipment deployed to affected areas. Iranian media reported that the overnight US strikes targeted telecommunications infrastructure, bridges and railway facilities in the country. US President Donald Trump had previously warned that the United States would target Iran’s bridges and power plants if Tehran refused to return to the negotiating table.
