The UAE Consul General to New York, Amna Almheiri, together with the UAE Embassy’s Trade and Investment Office, has visited the US states of Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island to strengthen economic and business ties between the UAE and the United States. The UAE delegation met with state officials, business leaders, academic institutions and innovation centres working in areas including maritime technology, climate solutions, artificial intelligence, healthcare, defence and energy. Maine, Vermont and Rhode Island exported a combined $139 million worth of goods to the UAE in 2025, including transportation equipment, machinery, computer products and electronic goods. The UAE said the visit highlighted growing economic cooperation between the two countries, with Vermont’s GlobalFoundries semiconductor manufacturing facility cited as an example of expanding industrial links.
