Israeli sources have told Israel’s Channel 15 that Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu is awaiting approval from US President Donald Trump before proceeding with an operation targeting a Hezbollah-linked position in southern Lebanon. According to the reports, the site is located in the Al-Tahir heights in southern Lebanon, where members of Hezbollah’s Badr Unit, including several commanders, are believed to be trapped. The sources also claim that President Trump has urged Israel to delay any military action while negotiations with Iran are ongoing. The Al-Tahir area, near Nabatieh and north of the Litani River, is considered strategically significant due to its elevated position, offering broad visibility over parts of southern Lebanon and areas close to the Israeli border. The report comes amid continued tensions in southern Lebanon in recent months, despite periods of announced ceasefires and temporary de-escalation agreements. Official figures indicate significant casualties in Lebanon as a result of ongoing hostilities in the region.
