China increases cooperation in Afghanistan’s reconstruction

KABUL: Yu Shiyong, the special envoy of China for Afghanistan, met with Amir Khan Muttaqi, the acting Foreign Minister of the Taliban, to discuss enhancing cooperation in the country’s reconstruction. In a post on his X account, Yu mentioned that they also talked about increasing collaboration based on international commitments. He highlighted that the meeting addressed the outcomes of a gathering of foreign ministers from Afghanistan, China, and Pakistan that took place in May of this year. According to the Chinese special envoy, the discussions with Amir Khan Muttaqi also focused on how neighboring countries can collaborate effectively with Afghanistan.
