Trump: Iran Came to the Negotiating Table Out of Desperation; Will Receive No Funds During 60-Day Talks

U.S. President Donald Trump on Friday continued to defend the memorandum of understanding between Washington and Tehran aimed at ending the war, while strongly criticizing opponents of the agreement. He said Iran entered the negotiations from a position of weakness and desperation. Trump wrote on Truth Socila “We did not meet out of desperation; Iran did. They are finished.” The U.S. president also said that Iran would not receive any financial assistance or economic relief during the 60-day period of negotiations between the two sides. “Iran will not receive a single dollar during these talks,” he added. Trump again defended the recent agreement with Tehran, saying the deal was the result of sustained pressure exerted by Washington on Iran.
