A senior U.S. official told Reuters that Israel and Hezbollah have agreed to a ceasefire, which is set to take effect at 4 p.m. local time on Friday. According to the official, the agreement was reached through mediation by the United States and Qatar, with cooperation from Iran. The official added that, following an exchange of attacks earlier in the day, both sides have now agreed to implement the ceasefire. If both parties adhere to the agreement, tensions along the Lebanon–Israel border are expected to ease, paving the way for further diplomatic efforts in the region.
