Pakistan Army Chief Asim Munir met with senior Iranian officials during his visit to Tehran, at a time when relations between Iran and Pakistan have gained greater significance in recent months, particularly following border tensions and broader regional developments. During the visit, Munir held meetings with Masoud Pezeshkian and Mohammad Bagher Ghalibaf, before also holding talks with Abbas Araghchi. According to reports by Iranian media outlets, one of the main topics of discussion was the issue of negotiations between Iran and the United States and Pakistan’s possible role in mediation efforts. However, no further official details about the content of the talks have been released so far. The separate meetings between the Pakistan army chief and senior political and diplomatic officials in Iran indicate that the visit was not solely military in nature and also carried significant political and regional dimensions.
