Two U.S. officials have announced that the United States is deploying additional troops and military equipment to the Middle East while progress is being made toward an agreement with Iran. According to a report by the Associated Press, the aircraft carrier USS George Bush, along with several destroyers, has been deployed to the region, and thousands of additional troops are also being transferred. The report states that part of the deployment had already been planned, but about 1,500 soldiers were sent immediately by order of Donald Trump. It has also been reported that forces from the 82nd Airborne Division and thousands of Marines are being moved to the region. U.S. officials have not announced the exact mission of these forces, but it is said that these units are trained for operations in conflict zones, including securing key locations. Meanwhile, U.S. Secretary of Defense Pete Hegseth did not provide details about the possible use of ground forces against Iran and said that revealing information before operations would not be in the interest of the mission.
