The Iran-backed Houthi group in Yemen has warned that it will respond firmly to any expanding military action against Iran. In a statement, the Houthi-controlled Ministry of Foreign Affairs said that any escalation of the war would negatively affect regional security, supply chains, energy prices, and the global economy. The statement added that if military or joint action is taken to reopen the Strait of Hormuz, the countries participating in such efforts “will be the first to suffer.” In this context, the United Arab Emirates and Bahrain are among 22 countries expected to take part in efforts to reopen the Strait of Hormuz. Analysts warn that if the situation worsens further, it will not only affect the region but also create serious problems for the global economy.
