Following the killing of Ayatollah Ali Khamenei, leader of the Islamic Republic of Iran, in joint U.S. and Israeli strikes in Tehran, the Iranian Embassy in Kabul held an official condolence book signing ceremony. Abdul Salam Hanafi, Deputy Prime Minister of the Taliban, attended the ceremony and expressed his condolences. According to the Iranian Embassy in Kabul, the ceremony was scheduled to take place over two days, with a number of Taliban Foreign Ministry officials also participating.
