KABUL: The Deputy of the European Union, Mr. Benjamin and his accompanying delegation Sandra, the cultural section head of the EU, visited the National Archive associated with the Ministry of Information and Culture. Shafiq Ahmadzi, head of the Ministry’s Foreign Relations and Cultural Affairs Department, and Qari Obaidullah Hanif, head of the National Archive, shared information about the archive’s building and artifacts. According to reports, the National Archive building has a historical background of 129 years, preserving various historical manuscripts from different eras. During his remarks, the EU Deputy expressed his impression of the National Archive, stating, “I was very impressed by the visit; preserving such historical manuscripts is a significant historical initiative. It seems that Afghans have a unique love for their culture and historical artifacts.” Additionally, Mr. Hanif, head of the National Archive, requested that the EU delegation assist in establishing connections between Afghanistan’s National Archive and the archives of European countries.
