KABUL: The International Organization for Migration (IOM) has announced that access to healthcare services in Afghanistan continues to face significant challenges. The organization reported that in 2025, approximately 508,431 returnees, internally displaced persons, and affected families received health consultations. The support provided includes general healthcare services, mental health consultations, and ongoing social assistance. According to the report, 64,947 women benefited from healthcare services, and over 91,000 children were assessed for malnutrition. Furthermore, the IOM indicated that more than 48,000 individuals received mental health and social consultations. This comes as the United Nations reported that in 2025, over two million Afghans returned to the country, a development that has further strained living conditions in Afghanistan.
