KABUL: As a result of two separate traffic accidents in northern and northeastern Afghanistan, at least 6 people have lost their lives and 8 others have been injured. According to Hafiz Mohammad Isa Wasiq, spokesperson for the Taliban’s police command in Balkh, a Pickup-type vehicle veered off the road and overturned on the Hairatan-Mazar-i-Sharif route, resulting in the deaths of three people and injuries to four others. The injured were transferred to Abu Ali Sina Balkhi Regional Hospital. Local Taliban officials confirmed that a Fielder-type vehicle overturned in the Kohistan district, resulting in the deaths of three individuals (one woman, one man, and a four-year-old child) and injuries to four others. The spokesperson attributed the cause of the accident to poor and substandard road conditions. The victims were members of a local family from the villages of Bashan and Patir in the Raghistan district. Authorities have urged drivers to exercise caution on roadways and to avoid excessive speed.
