KABUL: Pakistani media reports that nearly 300 Afghan migrant families, primarily women and children, are living in dire conditions in a park in Islamabad. The migrants state that their lives were destroyed following the Taliban’s return to power, forcing them to flee the country. However, years later, their future remains uncertain, and they constantly face the threat of expulsion from Pakistan. Some of these families include former policewomen and soldiers from Afghanistan who have lost their jobs and security. They express that they are living in a state of despair and hope, seeking resettlement in safe countries. Additionally, the Pakistani federal government has recently ordered migrants from the southwestern region of the country to leave. Both Iran and Pakistan have intensified the expulsion of Afghan migrants this year, with hundreds being arrested and expelled. German officials have also stated that the emergency relocation of migrants from Pakistan is currently not feasible.
