MOSCOW: The Russian embassy in India has announced that President Vladimir Putin will meet with Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi by the end of this year. According to the embassy’s information, Russia will continue to supply oil to India through a special mechanism. Roman Babushkin, the acting head of the Russian embassy, stated at a press conference that Russia has “a very special mechanism” to maintain oil supplies to India. He added that crude oil imports from Russia to India will remain at current levels. In recent years, Russia has become one of the largest suppliers of crude oil to India. Despite international sanctions and pressures, Russia aims to strengthen its energy partnership with India. The upcoming meeting between Putin and Modi is expected to cover bilateral relations, energy, trade, and global issues. This visit is considered crucial for further developing the ties between the two countries.
