New air corridor agreement signed for export of goods to international markets

KABUL: The Taliban Ministry of Industry and Commerce has announced a partnership with “Baharmomand Cargo” to facilitate the air transport of export goods to international markets. According to a statement from the ministry, the Memorandum of Understanding was signed in the presence of the Deputy Minister of Commerce, Mawlavi Ahmadullah Zahed, the Director of Trade Affairs, Mullah Janat Gul Akhund, and the First Deputy of the Chamber of Commerce, Younus Momand. The statement noted that, under this agreement, the “Baharmomand Air Cargo” company is obliged to provide cost-effective services for the transport of export goods compared to other air cargo companies in the country. The Ministry of Industry and Commerce has described this agreement as valuable for the expansion of Afghanistan’s exports, stating that it will help present the country’s domestic products to international markets through increased exports. Sources further stated that “Baharmomand Air Cargo” will initially begin transporting Afghan export goods via air to China, India, Turkey, Russia, and several other countries. This initiative is expected to significantly increase Afghanistan’s export volume and create more economic opportunities for the country.
