Plant for processing antimony and lead opens in Wardak

MAIDAN SHAHR: An antimony and lead processing plant named Afghan Qarghaz, built at a cost of $5 million inaugurated in Maidan Wardak province, the Taliban’s provincial governor’s press office said in a statement.

The plant will be established on 25 acres of land and is expected to process 60 tons of pure materials daily, along with other minerals.

Sources indicate that the project will create direct and indirect employment opportunities for 400 individuals, with 70% of the construction work already completed.

During the inauguration ceremony, Taliban officials stated that this plant will have a positive impact on the country’s economy and particularly on the lives of Wardak residents.

Officials emphasized that the country is rich in various resources and that efforts are being made to process domestic mines.
