KABUL: The Afghan Evac organization has announced that the United States has resumed the process of accepting and relocating Special Immigrant Visa (SIV) holders.
In a post on X today, the organization urged SIV holders who have entered the U.S. in the past 90 days to contact a resettlement agency.
According to Afghan Evac, the individuals will receive services such as housing, English language training, job placement assistance, and other support.
Additionally, those who have not yet arrived in the U.S. will also be eligible for these services upon arrival.
Despite a travel ban imposed by Donald Trump on citizens from 12 countries, including Afghanistan, SIV holders are exempt from this restriction.
Currently, thousands of SIV holders are in Pakistan awaiting document processing and relocation to the U.S.
