DALLAS: In response to the intensified immigration policies of the Trump administration, Dallas and Austin in Texas witnessed widespread protests. According to Fox News, on the evening of June 19, dozens gathered on the Margaret Hunt Hill Bridge in Dallas, waving flags and holding signs to protest against U.S. Immigration and Customs Enforcement (ICE).
Additionally, hundreds of demonstrators took to the streets in downtown Austin to show solidarity with protesters in Los Angeles.
Activists are calling for an end to the crackdown on undocumented immigrants by the Trump administration.
The protests follow a wave of unrest in Los Angeles, where the National Guard was deployed to suppress demonstrators. While the protests in Dallas and Austin have been reported as peaceful, concerns are growing about the potential for similar clashes and crackdowns in other cities.
