MADRID: A diplomatic meeting featuring foreign ministers from Arab and European countries, along with international representatives, was held in Madrid, to end the Gaza war and advance a political solution to the Israeli-Palestinian conflict.

The Arab-Islamic Joint Ministerial Committee announced that efforts to garner global support for a two-state solution are ongoing, calling for an immediate halt to Israeli attacks and the complete lifting of the Gaza blockade.

The participants emphasized the need to reopen crossings and deliver humanitarian aid urgently.

They supported the Palestinians’ right to establish an independent state within the borders of June 4, 1967, with East Jerusalem as its capital.

Additionally, it was announced that an international conference will be held in June at the UN headquarters in New York to strengthen the political solution.

The Spanish Foreign Minister called for a review of the arms embargo on Israel and insisted that the free flow of aid into Gaza must be guaranteed.

The Arab, Islamic, European, and Brazilian countries participated in the meeting.

Some of these countries, including Spain, Ireland, and Slovenia, have officially recognized Palestine.
