US President Donald Trump has said that the temporary pause in attacks against Iran does not mean Washington has retreated from its position. Speaking in an interview with French television channel LCI, Trump said: “A temporary halt in attacks does not mean that we have backed down.” He added in a warning tone that if Iran fails to meet US demands, Washington remains fully prepared to launch a major attack against the country. Trump’s remarks come amid ongoing tensions between the United States and Iran, with both sides facing pressure over the possibility of further escalation.
