Pakistan’s Prime Minister Shehbaz Sharif has strongly condemned repeated Houthi attacks on Saudi Arabia, including strikes targeting King Khalid International Airport in Riyadh and Abha International Airport.

In a statement on Friday, Sharif said the attacks had resulted in civilian deaths and injuries. He also praised the Saudi armed forces and coalition forces for intercepting several ballistic missiles and working to protect civilians.

Sharif reaffirmed Pakistan’s strong support for Saudi Arabia, saying Islamabad remained committed to the kingdom’s sovereignty, territorial integrity and security under their mutual defence arrangements.

He also expressed Pakistan’s support for Saudi Arabia’s right to defend its people and protect its cities and critical infrastructure.

The Pakistani prime minister called on the Houthis to stop the attacks immediately, adding that Pakistan would continue to stand alongside Saudi Arabia in confronting the threats.

Saudi Arabia’s civil aviation authority said earlier that at least three civilians had been killed and 36 others injured in attacks on King Khalid International Airport and Abha International Airport.
