Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu says Israel had provided Britain with intelligence about an alleged plan for an attack backed by Iran before the UK imposed sanctions on Israel.
Mr Netanyahu said Israel had warned British officials about the possibility of an Iran-backed attack, but that Britain imposed sanctions on Israel almost a day later.
He criticised the British government’s position, saying what he described as signs of “surrender or weakness” by the West in the face of an alliance between Islamists and Marxists posed a serious danger to the future of the West.
The claims about the alleged attack plan and the intelligence shared with Britain have not been independently verified.
