Iranian President Masoud Pezeshkian has said Tehran has not left the negotiating table with Washington, but no longer trusts the United States after its past experiences.
Speaking during a meeting with UN Secretary-General António Guterres on the sidelines of the UN General Assembly, Pezeshkian said Iran would not allow external pressure to force it into submission.
According to Iran’s Mehr news agency, Pezeshkian said Tehran remained committed to negotiations despite its lack of trust in Washington.
Guterres, meanwhile, stressed the need to pursue peaceful approaches, saying that efforts to find political and diplomatic solutions should continue despite the complexity of the current situation.
