Afghan Women’s Movement Calls for Answers Over Missing Afghan Citizens in Pakistan

The Quetta branch of the Afghan Women’s Empowerment Movement has expressed concern over the reported disappearance of Sayed Qasim Hashemi, a journalist, and Hamid Ehsas, a filmmaker and cultural activist, in Islamabad, Pakistan.

In a statement, the group called on Pakistani authorities to conduct an immediate and transparent investigation into their whereabouts.

It also urged authorities to disclose their legal and health status if they have been detained and to inform their families.

The group called on human rights organisations, the United Nations and journalists’ rights groups to follow up on the case.
