Naseer Ahmad Faiq, Afghanistan’s acting permanent representative to the United Nations, has said the Taliban should not be allowed to take Afghanistan’s seat at the UN.
In a post on X, Faiq argued that the Taliban had taken power by force and did not have a legitimate right to represent the Afghan people at the international organisation.
The issue of who should represent Afghanistan at the United Nations remains unresolved, as the Taliban continues to seek international recognition.
