Explosions and air defence activity have been reported in Tehran as the United States continued its military campaign against Iran for an 11th consecutive night, according to Iranian state media. Iran’s state news agency IRNA said explosions and the activation of air defence systems were heard in parts of the capital early on Wednesday. No further details or official reports on casualties or damage were immediately available. Iranian media also reported explosions following US air strikes in several other locations, including Hamedan, Tabriz, Bushehr, Chabahar, Konarak and Sirik. Meanwhile, the US Central Command (CENTCOM) said it had completed the 11th round of strikes targeting Iran. In a statement, CENTCOM said US forces had struck military operations centres, naval capabilities, aircraft shelters, drone maintenance facilities and military logistics infrastructure. The command said the strikes were aimed at degrading Iran’s ability to attack commercial shipping in the Strait of Hormuz, alleging that Iran had targeted 30 commercial vessels transiting the strategic waterway over the past three months.
