Kuwait’s Defence Ministry says three border posts in the north of the country were targeted in what it described as hostile attacks, causing material damage. The ministry also said an offshore drilling platform in Kuwait’s territorial waters was hit by a drone attack, resulting in material losses and injuries to one worker. The incidents were reported after explosions were heard in Iran’s Bandar Abbas and Qeshm Island, although Kuwait’s Defence Ministry did not identify those responsible for the attacks. The developments come amid renewed tensions between Iran and the United States, after Iran’s Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps and military said they had launched attacks on US military bases in five countries across the region.
