The German coalition government has said that the review of complaints and cases involving Afghans with resettlement pledges has not yet been completed. Despite earlier efforts to end certain Afghan admission programmes from Pakistan, Berlin has not fully achieved this goal, with a number of applicants still awaiting processing. A spokesperson for the Federal Interior Ministry told Catholic News Agency that around 60 Afghan nationals included in the federal admission programme remain in Pakistan, where they are waiting for the completion of administrative procedures. The applicants are expected to be allowed to travel to Germany once standard procedures — including security checks — have been successfully completed.
